As well as two daughters, our family includes two fcr's and four cats. We also home-check for an "all animals rescue centre" ~ FOAL Farm at Biggin Hill in Kent. One Flattie and two cats came to us from breeders; all the others are either from breed rescue houses or from FOAL. Nigel grew up with Golden Retrievers, the earliest being working dogs from the Camrose kennel. The first dog for our family was a Golden ~ but the desire to be owned by a Flatcoat won after Czar left us at nearly 14 years of age in 1996. Therefore, in 1997 we brought home a boy of the first litter from Gemswin Perhaps Love (Slipper to friends & family). Both our dogs enjoy attending a training group for Flatties that meets in Surrey usually once or twice monthly, either with our dogs or socially (or both). We may learn something of obedience, working, ringcraft or agility. The first and last are the preferences for our family dogs. We live on the North Downs surrounded by great walking country for Flatties (but downland is short on water for Sheba to indulge her passion for swimming!). |

Luke is still maturing; eager to learn and works well once he is concentrating ~ but excitement often overcomes him initially as he loves people and other dogs. He is a great family dog, tireless and enjoys particularly going away on caravan breaks, where he usually gets even longer walks! |

Gentle ~ a sweetheart to all, although she dominates Luke. She loves food (perhaps as an obsession) ~ and has suffered from dry excema. She used to be on steroids and anti-histamine, but since joining us in March 1999 we have succeeded in keeping at bay with Zambesia Botanica herbal skin cream. |
