I obtained my 1st Flatcoat over 12 years ago...as an obedience prospect. Little did I know where Brandy would lead me! She finished her Championship, a few obedience titles and became my foundation bitch. We (my husband Jerry and I ) live on 10 acres with our 4 Flatcoat girls--children and grandchildren of Brandy. I enjoy tracking and obedience..and the show ring. I am currently on the board of the Midwest Waterways Flatcoated Retriever Club --and a past president. My husband prefers fishing and hunting to dog shows-he has a 24 ft boat that he takes to the Great Lakes. He occcasionally comes to the shows, I occasionally go fishing. I am a Master Gardener, newsletter editor of my local garden club (which has an over-abundance of dog show fanciers, judges and breeders!), and I'm raising 500+ varieties of daylilys for market. I also *dabble* in photography and have had photos of my Flat-coats used in the AKC Gazzette magazine. We both work at the state psychiatric hospital--me in the pharmacy and Jerry in building maintenance |

Cricket is quite the character...she loves to run and fetch and crawl into your lap at the end of the day (or the begining...or the middle...) She hasn't met a body of water--from a rainpuddle to Lake Superior--that she doesn't like. She finished her Champioinship at 17 months old, and like her 1/2 sister Sheigh...aims to please. |

Flaire has inherited her Grandma Brandy's sense of fun and mischeif. She is also quite adimate about what she wants and when she wants it--you just have to convince her that what you want is what she wants. Like 1/2 sister Spry and 'Aunt Cricket' , Flaire is in training for her CD and tracking titles. She is one major shy of her Ch.--and by her 1st birthday has 7 Best of Breeds! She took 3rd in sweeps and 4th in 6-9 month class at the '99 specialty |

Sheigh is my first home-bred Champion--she is the United Kennel Club's first FCR Breed Champion--and the BOS at the 1998 Canadian specialty--not too shabby for my first litter! She is a sweety---and very willing to please. Sheigh and her daughter Spry make an awesome obedience Brace team. |

Spry is the 1st of my 2nd generation-- she is a quick study and loves nothing better than to try and catch the 6 foot tall Sandhill Cranes that visit our property in the fall. She finished her Championships with ease on back-to-back weekends...and took 2nd place in a huge Bred By Exhibitor class at the U.S 1999 specialty. She and her mother Sheigh also took 1st place in conformation Brace at the Canadian 1998, and the US 1999 specialties! *International Brace Team!* |
